Michel Kolly joins the Alpiq Executive Board

Lausanne – The Alpiq Board of Directors has appointed Michel Kolly (53) as a full Member of the Alpiq Executive Board and Head of the Digital & Commerce business division with effect from 1 July 2020. In particular, he will focus on the further expansion of international energy trading and the customer business in Europe and on driving forward digitalisation.

Michel Kolly (a Swiss citizen) has held various management positions within the Alpiq Group since October 2006, most recently as Head of Trading & Origination. Since February 2020, he has been Head of the Digital & Commerce business division as an interim member of the Executive Board. Prior to joining Alpiq, he held various management roles, among others in energy trading with the London-based energy group Total Gas & Power. Michel Kolly holds a postgraduate degree in energy systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and a degree in electrical engineering from Ecole d'ingénieurs de Fribourg (EIF).

Distinguished energy trading expert

Chairman of the Board of Directors Jens Alder says: “I am very pleased that as a member of the Executive Board, Michel Kolly will drive forward the further development of Alpiq’s international energy trading and customer business. Composition of the Alpiq Executive Board

The Alpiq Executive Board consists of Jens Alder (Executive Chairman), André Schnidrig (CEO, temporarily absent due to illness), Thomas Bucher (CFO), Michael Wider (Head of Generation Switzerland), Matthias Zwicky (Head of Generation International) and Michel Kolly (Head of Digital & Commerce).
